Jane Nicol describes her paintings as fragments of reality, contextually dissociated.
Jane Nicol is a professional fine artist, and graduate of Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1968. She has always been fascinated by consciousness, the mind, and what makes us who we are, studying esoteric psychology in her spare time. In 2004 an accident changed her life and lead her to painting.
She describes her paintings as fragments of reality, contextually dissociated. She paints from a personal understanding of what it means to be estranged from experiencing the most simple familiarity with the physical reality in which she was once complacent.
She now lives with her Australian husband in Maleny, Queensland, where her studio gallery is open to the public by appointment.
